Ukraine: UN High Level Officials urge the swift investigation of sexual violence allegations and call for strengthened measures to protect women and girls

Ms. Pramila Patten, UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, and Ms. Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, echoed the UN Secretary-General in his calls for the war in Ukraine to stop and expressed grave concern about mounting allegations of sexual violence perpetrated against women and girls.

Matrix: Early Warning Indicators on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (2012) (Digital Version)

This system-wide reference tool aims to help field personnel to detect and anticipate spikes in CRSV. The indicators are structured around six pillars that highlight the various dimensions of the problem and the constituencies needed for action, namely: military/ security; social/humanitarian; political/legal; economic; media-related and health. The UN Action Secretariat updated the visuals in this document in March 2022.
