UN Action Project South Sudan

This project aims to build the socio-economic resilience of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in Yambio, Juba and Bentiu, South Sudan. Using a survivor-centred approach, it seeks to improve access to essential medical, psychosocial and legal services through multi-sectoral collaboration and holistic support, and help build survivor’s resilience and reintegration through economic empowerment, financial inclusion, advocacy and policy reforms, and community engagement and awareness.

UN Action Sudan Project

The resurgence of devastating conflict in Sudan since April 2023 has driven more than 6.5 million people to flee their homes in search of safety & security. The conflict has left women and girls, especially, at extremely high risk of sexual violence. UN Action’s project in Sudan provides a robust emergency response focused on restoring facilities, livelihoods and the living conditions of women and girls most affected by CRSV. It does this by identifying and mitigating immediate protection risks for IDP and refugee women and girls, improving access to quality sexual and reproductive health services, and bolstering local systems to promote social cohesion and community protection in and around Western and Central Darfur.

UN Action DRC Project

This project increased access to multi-sectoral assistance, including medical, psychosocial, legal and reintegration support to survivors of CRSV and those at risk in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This initiative built the socioeconomic resilience of women involved in the DRC’s artisanal mining sector, whilst also addressing the fight against impunity on CRSV related crimes.

UN Action Mali Project

The project prevented and responded to CRSV in IDP camps located in the Gao and Menaka regions. It ensured that survivors of and those at-risk of GBV, including CRSV, have access to appropriate holistic care services and livelihoods and that communities are engaged on CRSV prevention and response. This document provides and overview of the project, highlights its key achievements, and emphasises its sustainable approach.

UN Action Ukraine Project

This project aims to improve system-wide responses to address the rights and needs of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) survivors at the national and community level through strengthened awareness, knowledge, capacity and technical expertise, increased availability and accessibility of comprehensive multi-sectoral assistance. The joint project is anchored in localisation efforts and fosters national ownership and leadership for a sustainable, survivor-centred response that also empowers civil society, survivor networks and women’s rights defenders. This document outlines key project highlights, plans for upcoming activities, and spotlights the Practice-Based Symposium for the Prevention of Conflict-related Sexual Violence, as well as the Project Monitoring Mission, both of which took place in July 2024.

Training Manual on Human Rights and Gender-Based Violence, UNDP UNFPA, UNA060 South Sudan (2019)

This training manual aims to help participants state, define and appreciate human rights including reproductive rights; clarify what is GBV; clarify their personal beliefs about the roles of women and men and identify different forms of VAW; identify services available in their community and the protection of civilian camps; explain and understand sexual exploitation and abuse that they see in the Protection of Civilian camps.

Paralegal training toolkit: a manual on investigation and prosecution of GBV cases in South Sudan, UNDP UNFPA, UNA060 South Sudan (2019)

This manual is intended to serve as a user-friendly tool for capacity building of personnel of various Government institutions and provide technical guidance on investigation skills and prosecution techniques.
